Building upon the pillars of nonprofit strategy and service design, I began my dual-masters’ program at Johns Hopkins University and Maryland Institute College of Art, while working full-time in performance improvement consulting with Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Throughout this professional experience, I both collaborated with the Assistant Director to drive institution-wide initiatives and also led project management on a diverse portfolio of projects. Primarily utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, an emphasis was placed on understanding the value stream, assessing observed data, and optimizing the end experience of patient care.
During my academic program, I incorporated tools such as personas and journey maps, utilized ideation methodologies for innovative solution development, and honed my strategic thinking abilities. With focus towards both empathy building and business acumen, I was exposed to how strategy can be conducted in a socially-meaningful way.
In learning and practicing methodologies across Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and Business Administration, I found a unique perspective from which to frame and address problems.
